I recently received my quarterly update on projects that are on the books for Alberta.
Construction projects valued at $5 million or greater are included in report. Projects that have been on hold for two years or more are removed from list; to be included in the future should they proceed at a future date.

This article has taken excerpts from this report!
In September 2012 the value of the Inventory of Major Alberta Projects was $210.65 billion, up from $193.5 billion last quarter.
The current Inventory is comprised of 833 projects. The sector with the largest number of projects is Infrastructure with 277, valued at nearly $18.5 billion. The second largest sector is institutional with 114 projects valued at close to $8.1 billion.
From a dollar perspective; the largest value is Oil Sands at $137.3 billion, Second Infrastructure at $18.5 billion, Third Oil and Gas at $10.3 billion.
There are 66 oil sands projects (mines, in-situ extraction and upgraders) with an estimated value of $137.3 billion.
So looking at this bit of information; where do you think all the jobs are being created now and in the near future. Right! Alberta!
